The Introductory Course is designed for Beginners or maybe those who already know a little about computers, but would prefer to get the "feel" of SeniorNet Garden City before venturing on to greater things. This course covers basic details such as the correct procedures for turning the computers on and off, a very important point simple as it may seem. Also covered is the keyboard and its function as well as the use of the "mouse" as a "point and click" device. Various practice sessions such as accessing the games like Patience are catered for to get the user familiar with the use of the mouse in a practical way. For this course, or indeed any of the courses at SeniorNet, super keyboard skills are NOT required or expected, just a desire to overcome any worries about computers you may have in a friendly and fun atmosphere. After completing this course you should be well prepared to progress on to a basic Word Processing course to learn about how to write letters, edit and format the text, print etc.
